Bird Spots April
Many birds have moved in this month and with the leafless trees were good to see. By the end of the month the tress were fairly leafy; early this year I think due to the good weather. The Blackcap, Whitethroat, linnet and Willow Warbler were all in good voice. The full list is attached but I saw a total of 37 species this mont making a total od 44 so far this year.

VE Day Beacon Lighting
The village commemorated the 80th anniversary of VE Day with various activities throughout the day, culminating with an event in Lot Meadow, where Martin Yeadon read the Proclamation, Toft Choir sang " I Vow to Thee my Country" and the beacon was lit by Ann Mitchell, MBE.
Around 80 people attended.

Big Breakfast
The traditional Big Breakfast was an amazing success, allow us to donate a fantastic £615.20 each to our two chosen charities, Fairtrade and Farm Africa.
So many people donated in many forms, from volunteering their time on the day, baking or buying goods, We were also supported by donations from Toft shop, Comberton co-op, Sainsbury's and Tesco's
It's wonderful to see so many of the village community and beyond coming together and enjoying a delicious breakfast while supporting two incredible and important charities.
